Dana Tanamachi grew to fame in 2009 after creating a chalk installation for a Brooklyn housewarming party which landed her a commission for Google
What inspired her?
According to Texas Monthly, Dana Tanamachi became interested with the art of lettering while taking a typography course at the University of North Texas. “I was obsessed with it,” she says. “I didn’t know you could be good at something like this and make a living filling letters
What method does she use?
Until around 2013, Dana Tanamachi created her art using chalk on chalk boards. She later decided to stop using this method because she felt like it was the only thing she was known for.
